I love this running gag of no one liking Picard's wine.

Bold of you to assume that the Changelings aren't well aware of your pedestrian taste in wine, Geordi.

When Jack mentioned the family name helping his career - he was talking about Crusher not Picard.

Picard gives Beverly a mixed tape of old romantic love ballads " in lieu of wine and roses". Meanwhile Picard gives everyone a bottle of Chateau Picard. To the point where it becomes a running joke. The amount of people he gives this too verses how many of them actually like it.

Dying laughing here; someone just referred to a Chateau Picard wine in a Musketeers fic and all I could think about was “sour mead”

Chateau Picard, 2386
Tumblr media
Beverly enjoyed a glass of wine on the Eleos as was her usual end-of-day routine. The work she did was daunting, and sometimes she needed to unwind. She looked at the bottle--Chateau Picard, 2386.
Beverly remembered Jean-Luc once telling her all about the various vintages of wine. She feigned interest at the time because it was important to him. Honestly, she couldn't tell the difference between a 2386 or a 2396, and, frankly, she didn't really care.
The wine was a bit dry for her taste, though she never let him know that. However, sometimes she drank it because it reminded her of Jean-Luc. She missed him. How could she not? He was a huge part of her life for so many years. She sighed and poured herself another glass of wine. She made her choice a long time ago. What's done is done.

Instead of saying, "I am certain I have loved you in more than a thousand different lifetimes."
Or "You are the only place that has ever truly felt like home."
Or "I must appologise, I found myself lost in your eyes again, and now I'm lightyears away."
Or "Please trust in me, let me take care of you. Let us face whatever has happened side by side."
Or "In this moment, and in the rest of time that is ours, promise me that we will be together?"
Jean Luc simply says "Beverly."
And their shared lifetime passes between them.
And she knows.

[Patrick and I] have a long history and it's a joy when that happens. When there's someone who you've known for a long time and you've acted different things with them, but then you’re looking again it’s like there’s love, there’s a depth - you’re still doing your character. But it’s a gift. It’s really beautiful. — Gates McFadden, The Shuttlepod Show
